Animation, Design The race has begun to reduce global warming
and fossil fuel dependency, renewables such as:
wind, solar, geothermal and biomass are becoming more and more a likely solution. The QUEST team examines the "Smart Grid," a future means to allow such technologies to more cleanly and efficiently produce power to California.
Comparing California's energy usage this animated graph illustrates each type as it's
obvious form: fossil fuels as a factory with a towering stack, nuclear as a power plant with a smoking reactor, renewables as the ubiquitous wind turbines, and lastly hydro-electric power as
a dam at the mouth of a river.
